Weather Reporter Stops Live Broadcast to Save a Woman. Live television is built around staying on camera, explaining what is happening and letting emergency crews handle the danger. But during severe flooding in Atlanta, meteorologist Bob Van Dillen heard something that made continuing the broadcast impossible: a woman screaming from a submerged vehicle nearby. Rising water had trapped her inside, and the pressure against the doors meant she could not simply climb out. Van Dillen knew help was coming, but he also knew the water was still rising. So he left the live shot, walked into chest-deep floodwater and reached her himself. He managed to get her free and carried her toward safety. What makes the moment so gripping is how quickly the role changed. One second he was reporting on the emergency. The next, someone’s survival depended on whether he was willing to step into it. #rescue #hurricanehelene #flooding

I bet that "You're good" was hard to swallow. He knew he had to do something and I'm glad he did.
He risked his life. Seriously! Walking into flood water is so dangerous. He earned his years wage that one report.

Wait, what? The cameraman actually turned the camera off?! People are so quick to watch people get hurt, die even just so they can film. I love this. What a good dude.
It's real damn hard to stand to the side when you know you can help.
He definitely needs a raise and a recognition 👏 🙌
You can see in his eyes, he said that’s enough, I have to step in ❤
I watched this live. It still shakes me to my core. He came back, grabbed his mic and just kept going like it never happened.
Humans should talk less and act more. This guy proves he is a human.... A real human.... Salute....
Media should do this type of work.
He's a hero, thats what heroes are, hes not super, hes not some figure with incredible strength, hes a man who understood she wasnt gonna be okay and wasnt going to be able to escape, so he put his own safety on the line to save her
I watched this live on air! It was awesome. It was early in the morning and I got my wife and kids to witness it. Good dude
This almost brought tears to my eyes to see a human helping another in a time of crisis. Protect this man at every cost. ❤
Humanity over viewers. That’s a real man.
This made me cry. The fact he knew he could do something more, risked his own life walking in flood water and came back like it was just a 9 to 5. I hope this man gets everything good in life.
This is what empathy looks like. True form. Now you understand.
That's a real man, I hope he goes far in his career.
the fact that this makes me tear up..... why is humanity not seeing the potential we have as a species...... we could be so much more than mistakes and issues
