In this video, I investigate everything there is behind fourth wall breaks in games.. and what walls lie beyond it. Why do games break the fourth wall? How do they do it? Do people even read descriptions anymore? I don't know. But I do know this is one of my favorite videos I've made as of late. Enjoy. Please Juniper, STOP BREAKING MY WALLS. IT IS THE TENTH TIME THIS WEEK
4th wall break in a 4th wall break? That's like 16 walls
These walls are gonna be so expensive to replace
18:20 Sounds like "There Is No Game," a game where you interact with a computer program who thinks it's *super* awkward that his developer never finished him and now he has nothing for you to do, because, yknow, there is no game (there is a game). I thought it was a super fun concept when I first heard it, and now I have a term for it! Awesome
damn thats a lot of walls.....
2:50 - in Zelda:WW, one's "Left Index Finger" would be on the L-Trigger of the Gamecube controller...so the comment is more about "staying Focused" (target locked) for that long, not about 'attacking so many times'...
Did you get the broom closet ending? The broom closet ending is my favorite
This might be a fifth wall break: when I was in high school theatre, we put on a one-act play called "S.P.A.R." Which stood for "Stephen's Play About Renata." The playwrite, Stephen Gregg, is one of the characters in the play. And he spends a lot of time trying to prove to the characters that they are in fact in a play and he is their creator. At one point, he also removes the fourth wall and shows them the audience. He then subverts that by showing that the audience is also fictional (actors in the audience that he can also control).
The "You killed Niko" thing does not happen in the full steam release of the game, only the old free 2014 version of the game. I think that would be important to note.
I've lost count of how many walls the Minecraft End Poem breaks
"If there's one thing that knows how to connect people, it's people." Man I really needed to hear that.
Next level editing on this one 👀

THERES FIVE OF THEM???!?!?
1:50 - id argue that in-game Tutorials dont necessarily 'break' the 4th Wall (though they may get Very Friendly with it)...its a little closer to having Diegetic Music-- you(player) listening to the radio in your(character's) bedroom-- compared to 'playing the Soundtrack' from your phone or whatever... if the Game is teaching "the character" how to Jump or Attack (like Mario being told to 'stomp on a Goomba's Head to defeat it'), that could still be "contained" within the Four Walls...but when the game says "press the Jump Button" (and sometimes your character will even ask, "what do you mean by 'Jump BUTTON'??"), then the instructions are being given directly to the Player, through a little mailslot in that fourth wall...

Best Elden Ring run I've watched in a while.
Ah yes, I remember in Doki Doki Juniper Club, how the AI takes over the game, and you get the Just Juniper ending
0:42 stop breaking the walls.
I think we could make the case that games like Doki Doki literature club don't even have a fourth wall to begin with. Yes, the game starts like a normal visual novel with its own world, but it later becomes clear that the main character is the player themselves in a weird second person storytelling kind of way. Anyway, great Elden Ring speedrun.
