I lived in a community in. BC of 3500 people 340 km north of Prince George. We had Home Hardware. I knew the many of the staff from the manager to warehouse staff. I had a major project, hired help and ran out if a special caulking on a Sunday, Called Robert the manager, he opened the store, provided the product which I paid for on Monday when the store opened, project completed. Not worth a return drive to the city when excellent service local..

I bought a Benchmark socket set from Home Hardware on Bank Street in Ottawa. Paul was the owner but the landlord doubled the rent and he closed the store. This year, I found the 1/4 “ driver didn’t work. I took the socket set down to the Home Hardware store in Findlay Creek. Mark, the store manager just replaced the driver. No questions asked.

Dealth with Home Hardware about 25 miles from Kingston Ont. for over 30 years. You ordered materials to be delivered like Wood, wall boards, Drainage pipes, Electrical Etc.they send you seconds, thirds and even forths, you end up going back and exchanging the materials you had just recieved because it was crap but paid full price. The only way to get descent products was to go and get it yourself.
