My dad used to stand at the end of a field and holler something that sounded like "comebaas' and all the cows would come running and file into the barn and even into their stanchions on their own. It always amazed me when I was a kid.
That was fabulous and joyful and so uplifting! Oh my goodness I love farm animals and I love the way these people treat them. Joy.

I had a bigger house at one time and ended up with 6 cats. It was right next to a bike path and 2 minutes to a small park. 4 of the cats would follow me to the park and around the block. I had a handsome tuxedo cat and he would wait in certain bushes while I went a bit further to the store. If I took to long he would move to a different hiding spot and surprise "attack" me. He passed Nov 2024, I still miss him terribly. You just have to talk to animals, they understand love.❤

We had a neighbor who was a bugler during the war and a trumpet player at the club on the weekend. He’d play reveille and taps to call his cows in.
