The coupling of Gwen and Duncan being forced makes a lot of sense, it always felt like such a lame decision. So CN executives just saw these two "rocker" looking characters and they were like: "yeah, they belong together".
I remember when I was in 5th grade, a group of boys in my class made a total drama fan fiction thing where a lot of people in our class were in it. I made it up to the final 6 which was cool.
