This motorcyclist showed exactly why every motorcycle group needs an experienced leader during a group ride he spotted a dangerous situation up ahead on the shoulder so after making this hand signal the entire group switched to a single file formation following one motorcycle behind another and after passing the cars stopped on the shoulder he made another signal indicating that they could return to the staggered formation which is the standard formation for riding in groups on highways

hi former group rider here, not only do you need a good leader but a good road captain. they will block traffic for the rest of the group as well as let the leader know if they are missing anyone from the group. theres usally a rear leader too, they let the road captain know if everything is good as well as stay behind if one of the rider breaks down there also a chance that some larger groups will have support vehicles (usally a truck or two with a trailer) for the really long road trips. they usally carry the passengers of some of the riders like kids or carry supplies like water snacks and spare gas in some rare cases.

If you're putting them all in one lane to keep them safe from the truck on the median it'd be a lot smarter to have put them in the opposite lane away from where the truck is, not put them all in the lane next to the stopped vehicle.

It's not about being an experienced leader is about not being a dumbass. Pick a lane and stick to it. Don't block the entire highway remember you're on a bike if the people in a car wanted to they could run you over.

My Leader is called Google Maps, the communication is via Sena and usually about the regrets from the last weekend . Just get a 600 with more Power then your 1500ccm fuel to noise converter.
