I'd like to defend the parachute idea. For the record, I don't think this player thought about it this intensely. From a parachute you could make. 1. Tent 2. Water catchment system. 3. Rope and cordage for everything from construction, to traps, to fishing gear to bow drill. 4. The D-rings can be refasioned into hooks and spikes for either spears or tools. 5. The harness itself would be amazing for a backpack system. Being hands free while hunting, gathering, fishing or building would be invaluable.

A ferro rod. Fire is heat, light, protection, rescue signal, clean water and cooked food. A cast iron pot w/ lid. Collect, boil, distill and store water. Clean drinking water is second only to oxygen for survival. A hatchet for firewood and making shelter, other tools, weapons, utensils and traps, cleaning/skinning kills for food. For the people saying parachute: It could be used as a sun shade, wind block, hammock and probably a fishing net, plus all the cordage However, because physics, parachutes have to allow air to pass through them for stability. They are neither waterproof (rain protection) or watertight (water collection). Also, I feel a parachute is too involved and complex to fit the spirit of the three item hypothetical. A parachute is the canopy, cords, bridle, steering, deployment bag, harness, backpack and lots of other little bits and pieces. If you can use something as multifaceted as that what precludes just saying "I'd take a custom camping RV or a shipping container full of MREs and water bottles." Kinda defeats the fun of the experiment to me. Anyway, cool video
