Normal in-person TCGs are ever-evolving and constantly releasing new sets. Def open the new packs; they have officially been released

I think that all packs should be available for purchase, not just the standard packs, for a few reasons. Runescape is an evolving game, you see new content added every week/month and so it makes sense the TCG accounts evolve with it as well. The account wouldn't be locked out of new RS content, and shouldn't be locked out of new TCG content. TCG's are also evolving games. New lines of packs are released constantly for the biggest TCG's which have been evolving for decades. New cards / packs are part of the fun, and at the core of TCG's staying alive and relevant. Having the added packs available create a new layered dynamic for theory crafting and strategy. It's fun, it's something Faux is known for enjoying and being pretty darn good at, and it gives chatters and commenters something to discuss and theorize for themselves, driving engagement further, which is good for everyone.

Evolving game mode, you should evolve with it. Like when a new expansion comes out to a card game, it moves the game forward

For the special packs, personally, you have started this TCG knowing it is a beta. You are a pretty big pillar in the TCG community. People watch your videos cause they like the content, but also because they want to learn about the plug ins. I feel like the new changes/packs are part of the future of the serie. We want to see the upgrades, we want to see the new things, by knowing it would eventually be release and alot would change. So its normal that there is changes and those should influence the future of the account, like any other update would in the main game.

Having all packs available from the beginning will provide significantly better long-term longevity for the series. In the same spirit as OSRS, players should be able to intentionally target specific items when they are looking for something in particular. You wouldn’t, for example, kill Gargoyles in OSRS hoping to randomly obtain a Twisted Bow. That’s how the beta version felt to me. With RNG pulling from a pool of 6,000+ cards, players are largely left at the mercy of luck when searching for specific cards. While randomness is an important part of collecting, relying too heavily on it can eventually cause progression to stall and negatively impact the longevity of the series. Making all packs available also aligns with how legitimate TCGs traditionally operate. Players can identify the cards they want and then target the specific sets or packs that have the best chance of containing them. This still preserves the excitement and randomness of opening packs while giving players meaningful control over how they pursue their collection. Love the series, keep of the great work Faux.

Couple of small things to go over. This update will be forced for everyone tomorrow when you have to reload your client for the game update (if you haven't already). I understand it will affect the future of the series, that's just something I have to accept. The developer was clear that the full version would be coming out soon, but it was released a little ahead of what he expected since Runelite approved it so quickly. It's a game changer, not a game ender. If you play a Cardcore and you think your cards are lost with the update, follow the steps on "how to import my beta cards" here: /faq - the Bronzeman TCG plugin will continue to work based on the beta cards you've already earned. It takes a little more work, but it's still just as playable. Also, I know the in game music was a little loud for some of the video, I apologize for that and am working on improving. I think staying on the beta version will be bad for the future of the account and series, both for the player, and for the viewer.

You should be able to open all packs. It's already a unicorn account, it seems excessively restricting to limit access to certain features of the plugin.

The extra packs are good, it allows cardcores to have way bigger goals across the board. Also for selling dupes, I think with how the mythic+ give a lot of more packs, you can probably just wait till there are a lot of dupes before selling the lower rarity ones now.

Hey faux, I think it's just gonna be good for the series. Following your community into the adventure is just interesting! I was at 85% collection myself and this update just feels more complete as a tcg game mode. I'm glad they kept beta cards since now i have many things unlocked. The effort that went into not scrapping those is commendable

You can adjust the rules around the 1.0 release. Screw the goal of fire cape, set a bigger goal with 1.0. I don't play card core but I think this concept is awesome.

I'll be honest, I think it would be a little boring seeing only standard packs when there are so many more exciting options going forward and it gives you a little more agency in what you want to push your account towards.

All packs should be viable, longevity depends on it. Being able to focus on getting something to progress the account is just the nature of OSRS and will allow the series to continue. It does cost more, which is enough of a trade off. Not to mention you are also trading away being able to get items that could help you in another aspect of the game. This is the best thing that could happen to the series in my opinion!
