You should show the viewers the buckling spring mechanism that makes these so special! I own two of these. The computer labs at my school as a kid were all IBM PS/2. I learned to type on these. I run one from 1987 at my desk to this day and have another one as a spare. I will probably have to retire from my IT work if they break, but they will probably outlast me. Every so often, I have to pull off the filthy key caps, wash them in dish soap and water, and get the dirt out of the rest of it. When i first acquired it, i fully disassembled and cleaned it (without losing any springs.) It's probably time to do that again.

Mentioning IRQ and Soundblaster gave me flashbacks. I admittedly got in "late" in the game, and the first PC I used was my school's i486 SX25
I had one in about 88-89ish. I think I still have it. Man I was young once.
Sound blaster sounded so cool back in the day I still remember getting my voodoo 3D FX graphics card. Being so damn proud of that thing. Not a single goddamn person at school knew what I was talking about

I genuinely miss the old days of computing, and wish I had the funding to rebuild some of it. Despite being born in 1990, I remember very well sitting down with an old PC and one of those programming manuals, where the game was written down in code, and you had to TYPE THE ENTIRE GAME IN from scratch in order to play it. The level of force learning, and realizing how much you could memorize from repetition, is one of the biggest reasons I eventually found myself working in IT. (That and the digital puzzles!)
The clacking of the keys is kind of soothing for some of us. Those things are a great piece of hardware!

Yes! It's what I used for years. Using it edgewise you can take out 3 people before the case cracks. I miss that keyboard...
I still have a couple, plus a UNICOMP from the people who bought the tooling. I don't use them much anymore because it's just too loud, but it's still a great keyboard. The older version, although it uses a DIN plug, is not MIDI.
I used to put mine in a dish washer to clean it... I miss it.
I shared a small office with one of these fifteen years ago. That left me with noise-canceling headphones, a good friend, and an addiction to (less aggressively machine gun sounding) modern mechanical keyboards.
