DLSS5 reminds me of early HDR photography. Basically, a small amount of the effect looks great, but if you use too much of it, the image looks completely fried. When something is new, people tend to turn it up to eleven. Generally, a 5/10 effect is preferable

One thing I've grown to realize with AI tech is that there is a very fine line between enhanced visuals with creative augmentation, and slop. A lot of the DLSS 5 demos so far just look like a model that has been trained on real images and then it seems to replace whatever the texture that it thinks is being rendered with a hyper real texture...that is quite far over the slop line imo

DLSS5 reminds me a lot of early HDR photography. Basically a bit of the effect looks great, but if you overdo it, the image ends up looking deep fried as hell. When something is new, people tend to turn it up to 11. Generally a 5/10 effect is going to be better.

Can't imagine a company like remedy being ok with the dlss5 feature given how pro human creativity they are...

I'd have loved to have side by sides on these. These games look like I remember them still!

GTA 4 looks like GTA 6. That’s pretty damn impressive.

Small correction: it's not a new rendering pipeline. It's a filter/computation that applies at the end of the rendering pipeline, before sending it to the monitor.

It's just a ai filter. You can tell by how some of the faces are warping with it during cut scenes on watch dogs

I don't really like this. Every just has that "AI" human art-look to it. I feel like with realism it looses a lot of the games own style. Some of already can't stand the "real" look, now everything will really all look the same! I understand for sports games and some of there genres this can kinda work but I don't want to see every game turn to this.

man this is soooo disappointing, considering how good the graphics were getting with stuff like Unreal and metahuman but this DLSS AI slop is ruining it all
