I am with the Paddock rumours that Mercedes used up all their budget at the start. I think they went hard on using the engine advantage early, piling on the points and locking in the championship early. Remembering that teams mainly focus on the manufacturer championship, this is where the money is, this is what really matters. The issue they have had is that Russel due to various reasons has not performed as well as they wanted early on.

This video missed one detail. The Iran war led to two early racing being cancelled. At the time of those two cancelled races Mercedes were totally dominant, and a one two finish was vertually guarentied. If Mercedes had a one two at those two cancelled races, then Mercedes would be so far a head of everyone, it would be a mile.

Man, these videos are so good, but can you turn down the digital camera shake a little? It makes me feel nauseous. And the camera beep every time you cut to a different shot is obnoxious. I know these things sound nitpicky but they both made it really hard to sit through an otherwise excellent video.

They gave the customer teams the engine but didn’t tell them how to use it, if I was a customer team I’d be pissed off about that as you could argue it breaches the rule about providing the same specs to the customers as the factory team, but given the outright performance of the merc engine I doubt any of the customers will be cancelling their agreements anyways

I find it crazy how through so many eras of F1, the visuals from this channel continue to get better and I rarely ever spot a mistake. Easily the best channel in F1 at the moment, I hope to see even more content (especially in long form) through the future.
