Thats not even the worst part. I work at a mercedes and take their photos for their website, and ive seen s classes only a few years old with less than 50k miles have interior bits already failing and broken lol

Mercedes has clearly figured out that they can make more money by cutting corners on quality, because people will keep buying anyway. The average buyer today seems to care more about appearance and brand image than what’s actually underneath. I’m just not sure how long this strategy can last before it eventually backfires on them.

Even the w204 c class seems to be better quality than a lot of the new stuff. They’ve gone the wrong way for sure, but also so has every other company. That 2005-2015 was really the best era of cars, we didn’t know how good we had it.

That first trim piece by the taillights have been plastic in every single car I've seen. And this includes cars that are $100k-$200k+
