Saving a Dying Supermarket Betta Fish

Nature and animals

I rescued a dying betta fish from a supermarket tank and gave him a real home. This is the full story of how a store bought betta went from a tiny cup to a fully cycled aquarium and what actually changed for him along the way. Most supermarket bettas are kept in tiny, unfiltered cups under stressful conditions, and a lot of them don’t make it. This video follows the entire rescue process: what his condition looked like when I found him, the quarantine and acclimation process, setting up a proper heated and filtered tank, and the recovery over the following days and weeks. If you’ve ever walked past a betta in a grocery store cup and wondered whether it’s worth saving one, this video shows exactly what that looks like and what it takes to actually keep one alive and thriving long term.
