Does a RWD Red Bull drift car have what it takes to beat an AWD Lambo in a straight line?! Explore new and used car deals with Carwow: https://bit.ly/Change-Your-Car-0509 It’s time for a drag race with one of the craziest M2s we’ve ever seen! We’ve got our hands on a Red Bull BMW M2 - and it’s been converted into a drift car! So we’re going to see if a car that’s made for cornering at extreme speed has what it takes to beat a Lamborghini in a straight line! Does it stand a chance? Let’s take a closer look at the stats… The Red Bull M2 is powered by a BMW S58 engine. However, rather than having twin turbos, this 3-litre straight-six instead comes with one single (yet massive!) turbo, and the power output has been increased to an incredible 1,100hp and 1,200Nm! All of this power is sent to the rear wheels only via a 5-speed sequential gearbox, and being a drift car, it’s super light, tipping the scales at around 1,400kg. As for the Lambo, it’s the Huracan Performante! That means it’s powered by a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 that delivers 640hp and 600Nm. It sends that power to all four wheels via a dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and it weighs in at 1480kg. So it’s slightly heavier than the Red Bull, but it does come with all-wheel drive! However, should the Lambo prove too powerful, Mat’s also got his hands on a standard BMW M2! It’s way down on power compared to the Red Bull car, with only 480hp & 600Nm. What’s more, this power is sent to the rear wheels only, just like the Red Bull. The question is, does a car with a deficit of more than 600hp really stand a chance?! There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE! Carwow we need trap speeds
Please! End every race with a consecutive drone shot and trap speeds! We got absolutely NO feeling of how fast the cars are...
Was he really using its full 1100 hp in the races? It doesn’t look like
1100hp through the rear wheels in a drift car sounds like a traction nightmare! ☠
6:52 looks like a NFS mostwanted blacklist entrance
Will you ever do proper track races which matter more on the real world. Going fast in a straight line is fun for a short while but going around corners in both left and right matters more.
1100 hp are missing 300 at least 😂
Fun fact: by screaming ‘Come on’ in the car does increase 50hp more
Thanks, guys, it was such a fun day! Between diff-ratio, gear-ratios, programmed power-curve and the launch control in Elias' feet, it put the power down like proper drift car. Not necessarily what you're looking for in drag. We sure learned a little something and might do better next time. 😅
That BMW is no where near 1100hp!! just cut the bullshit!!!
No way that bmw is 1100hp. Top end should easily take the lambo
That m2 doesnt look like 1100hp
Regardless of traction that bmw isn’t 1100bhp!
6:52 this shot was surreal 🎥 👌🏻 💨
S58, single turbo, sequential what's not to love?
The performante continues to impress even after so many years
Tbh that bmw looks like it has max 700-750hp
Carwow we need trap speeds ....
There's no way that's 1100 hp it was barely pulling on the Lambo
13:36 matt, you know what actually drifting is all about traction but in sideways
