This week we take you across the Atlantic. Fendt kindly flew James and Tom out to Boone, Iowa, for the Farm Progress Show, one of the biggest farm shows in America, and the launch of their new machinery. In this episode we get a proper look at how farming is done on the other side of the pond, and it is a real eye opener. We climb aboard the latest Fendt with its new cab and a 60km/h top speed, and get up close to the cutting edge autonomy on show, including a driverless grain cart that follows the combine and unloads on demand, something that could transform an operation like ours. We ride an American Gleaner combine, marvel at the sheer scale of the machinery and the rail network that moves the grain, and dig into the things the UK simply does not have, from government backed crop insurance to USDA support that helps farmers invest and weather a bad year.
