Let’s take a closer look… The new Audi RS5 rolls up with a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6, coupled with an electric motor, and they combine to produce 639hp and 825Nm. This power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and the hybrid tech means it’s pretty hefty, weighing in at 2,355kg! As new, it costs around £90,000. Then we come to the Audi S4, which houses a 3-litre V6 turbo under the bonnet. However, it’s had a number of changes made to it, including a new intake, a new exhaust, and a remapped engine and gearbox. As a result, power output has increased to 450hp and 780Nm. It’s also a whole lot lighter than the RS5, tipping the scales at just 1,630kg! So the S4 may still be down on power, but it’s more than half a tonne lighter!
