Apple Launches Cheaper Polishing Cloth in India at ₹1,080 Apple has introduced an updated version of its widely discussed Polishing Cloth at a significantly lower price in India. The accessory is now listed on Apple’s Indian online store for ₹1,080, compared with ₹1,780 for the previous version—a reduction of ₹700, or approximately 39%. In the United States, its price has fallen from $19 to $9. Apple first released the standalone cloth in 2021. Its premium price attracted jokes and criticism because ordinary microfibre cleaning cloths were available for considerably less. However, Apple marketed its product as suitable for delicate screens, particularly the nano-texture glass used on expensive devices such as the Studio Display and Pro Display XDR. The company says the new cloth is made from a soft, non-abrasive material and can safely clean Apple displays, including nano-texture surfaces. It retains a light-grey appearance, rounded corners and an embossed Apple logo. Apple has not officially announced major performance improvements. Independent comparisons indicate that the newer cloth is approximately the same size but feels softer, thinner and more flexible than its predecessor. Its updated material reportedly resembles conventional microfibre more closely, although it continues to use a two-layer construction. The product should therefore be described as an updated second-generation accessory rather than merely a temporary discount on old stock. Despite the reduction, ₹1,080 remains expensive compared with generic screen-cleaning cloths. Its main appeal is likely to be among customers who own costly nano-texture displays, prefer official Apple accessories or want a cleaning material specifically approved by the manufacturer.
