You've reached the end
People don't realized that ownership and repairability are 2 of the most important things to have as a consumer
Finally a company that actually doesn’t make e-waste
Valve always winning even during the RAM crisis
The greatest Console thats ever lived
Gabe is a boulder, holding down the fort from a tsunami of corporate greed for decades. Not saying that he's a saint but he's been a saviour for the gaming community. Some people might not like my statement but when he goes away, they're gonna miss him dearly.
The Xbox uses a proprietary NVMe drive that you can’t buy. This drive holds your OS and encryption keys to the motherboard. When it inevitably fails, your system is bricked. If you try to clone it before it fails, your only option is to get a used Xbox drive. This is an anti-consumer practice that serves no benefit other than to make you pay Microsoft WHEN the drive fails. We all know how bad Sony is with the PS5, but a lot of you are ignoring the fact Xbox is also guilty.
I am just here for the *Greatest Technician that's ever Lived*
Huh this is much more just like a pre built pc then I thought
Gooch collector vs the ram robber could be a good comic book
Valve was really hesitant to release it because of the sudden spike in cost but they decided if they didn't release it the project would have been put on an indefinite (and likely permanent) hold, which really sucks because the initial plans were for it to release at a lower price point than Xbox or PlayStation.
THANK YOU! Literally everyone I talked about it criticized it and said it was worthless yet its a gaming console that functions like a computer and gives you full control over it and for that I will always give it the respect it deserves.
The most repairable gaming console that's ever lived.
He is a POr-KEMON addict
The greatest console that's ever lived all hail the steam console
At a $1,000, it seems to be outperformed by other builds that could be either around that price or cheaper. I’d probably say it was worth getting when it was originally going to be $750. At least Valve recognized that and said people could build their own version that’s faster.
More repairable than disposable laptop
Why does matter at this point my wallet is going to say no anyway
sony and microsoft drafting a cease and desist letter right now seeing an easily fixable console
The other thing hurting the Steam Machine's pricetag vs the "competition" is all the other companies use their hardware as loss leaders, making up the loss with predatory and anti-consumer Software as a Service subscription crap. Valve doesn't do that, and so has to sell their boxes at least at a small profit.
