We’re now at the first film in the x-files universe and I cant wait to get into the movie. Im actually surprised at how much is segues from the series and sets things up for whats to come in season 6. We live in a society where I think studios are often scared to connect movies to tv shows because theyre worried people might not understand all the intricies. This is boldly tied to the show though and having not seen it for 20 years it was like watching it for the first time. My wifes been watching the odd episode with me from time to time and was a bit surprised there was actually a movie. She asked if she should watch it and I said no. Not becuase of how sexy Mulder is but because I just dont think youd understand this if you hadnt watched all the mythology episodes. Which I dont really know if shed care about. Ey I was exactly the same before this breakdown series.

Thank you for sticking with us through these breakdowns guys. I am up to episode 8 of Season 6 while writing this so I'm hoping that we can get that video out in the next 6 weeks or so. Thanks, Paul
Paul I can’t tell you how thankful I am for your channel. I watch most of your stuff but LOVE the X-Files breakdowns
Never a miss on this channel!
I’ll never forget seeing the building explosion scene in the theater. For lack of a better way to explain it, it truly blew me and my buddy away. Everything leading up to it is just done so well that it was just impossible not to get fully swept away.
I am truly grateful that you are making this series, as a kid I knew the x files was very popular, I love when they showed up in The Simpsons, but on cable I could never catch up with the main lore and honestly 25 episodes, 1 hour, for each season is a big compromise to re watch the whole damn thing, these breakdowns are the enjoyable way to re visit the series tbh, thanks for the effort you crazy sons of a gun
31:45 I saw this in theaters. And at this moment you could clearly hear Scully under her breath say “I saw it. I saw it.” Sadly on home release you can’t hear her well… but if you turn in the subtitles, it’s there.
And now we have the new cut of fight the future on D+. The r rated version Chris Carter wanted to release at the time. Sorry Paul, you have one more movie to breakdown. It never ends and thank you
The black oil origin story is basically Prometheus‘ story
Gillian Anderson was looking real good in this movie
I always felt like the movie doesn’t fit in with the story. But now I can see it! Thanks!
The alien that escapes is addressed in the first episode of season 6.
Saw this in the cinema, I’m that old, great breakdown Paul.
I have the vhs collectors editions . It has a full used on set script
Aw man! I wish you would have mentioned when Scully cleared the building after she realized Mulder wasn't joking. The entire theater erupted in cheers the first time I saw it. It was awesome.
my major issue is that corn isn't bee pollenated.
Excellent breakdown. Saw this in the theater. Good time.
32:35 Classic film newspaper with all the repeating text everywhere.
Always bangers on this channel, Paul. You’ve gotten me to unearth the OG X-Files DVDs here at chez JPK.
I first thought the name you butchered was Braunschweig (a City in Germany) but it is actually Bronschweig. Still pretty similar
I was going to watch porn, but then I got a notification for Heavy Spoilers. If that's not dedication to your content, then what is 😂
