I've been watching you for years and your still one of my favorite channels. I can't believe Abby is old enough for college. I found you she was in middle school.
Plus, she is so lucky to have you as a mom and how great she gets to move in with her best friend!
This is a really good video for students moving into a residence hall. You need to bring it out again next summer when students are planning their move-in.
You're a good momma, Cas, helping your baby bird learn to spread her wings! ❤
I love the packing into the containers you are going to use when you get there!! This is genius!! I wish I knew this when my daughter went off to college!! I have been watching you for years and I can't believe she is old enough to go off on her own! You can do this Cas!
I cried right along with you. Best to Abby at university. Wow! Great makeover.
When my daughter went away to college I would spend time sitting on the floor in her room crying for a couple of weeks. Then I started tidying and cleaning the room and adding a few surprise touches for when she came home. That made it exciting to wait for her visits instead of mourning her absence. Mind, she was only 40 minutes away so a little pathetic but it is what it is.
5:19 “that’s dad’s problem” 😂
My oldest is 19. He went to trade school and got a wonderful job and moved 1,000 miles away. I cried for a few days but I’m so proud of him and we talk all the time. I do miss him but I really can’t be sad because I know what an amazing young man I raised!
She’s beautiful! I loved how she picked up something off the floor with her toes. Oh the agility of youth!😊
My children are 6, 4, and 1 and I SOBBED when Cas was leaving and started crying. I have a long way to go and it feels so close at the same time. Every day is precious!
Lol, Cas yelling "can we focus?" was so funny.
For beds in dorms, you can get bed raisers and you’ll have twice as much space under your bed.
This is so great! I would caution against putting anything peel and stick over her head. 😬
My oldest son left for university 10 years ago. 1,000 miles from home. He still lives in the town his school is in. I still cry all the time that he's not close, but he's now married and happy, has a good job, and loves his life. I couldn't be prouder of the man he has become!
She’s very sweet and gentle and pretty. And it was funny “what’s a go go dancer 💃 “ 😂
An easy modification to this, if you have to transport things in ways other than in what they will be stored in in the space (I had to because I went to college 1000 miles from home, so something like that rolling cart wouldn't have worked for actual transport in the car), is to pack them into the things they will be stored in so that you know how much will actually fit, take pics of them in those storage items, then pack what can't be transported that way into something else, then you can just unpack those items from the things they were transported in and put them back into the storage items the way they were originally. Also, if you know you will have basically the same layout in any future dorm rooms, take pics of how everything is arranged in the room before packing stuff up at the end of the school year, so that all you have to do at future move-ins is reference the pics from the previous year to see how things were arranged so that you don't have to memorize and try to remember how things had been if the organization system you managed to eventually work out ended up working really well for you - I took detailed pics sophomore year, then referenced them junior and senior year, and it made everything go SOOOO much faster at move-in, because all I had to do was check the pics to see where things went!
She plucked that RIGHT up from the floor with her toes! LOLOLOL....THE BEST!!!!!!!! LOVED the Go Go part at the end. She looks like she is an absolute ball to be around! (A lot like her mom looks too...!) Good luck at "University" !
I remember that time well and I did the same thing. I waited until I got in the car and cried the whole way home. How great is it that she gets to room with her best friend. You two did a great job on packing and moving her in and the room looks great. 🙂❤🙂📚
OMG! This hit home for me, both of my kids moved out this summer. It’s been so hard to get use of the house being so quiet and it’s just me and my husband. Us moms definitely need hugs!
