Oh, you're an electrical engineer? Name every outlet.
Can't wait to see what water demo he builds in his garage for this one!
“my friends Mehdi and Alec” what a flex
That table is MUCH easier to understand than the boring monochromatic NEMA Configuration Chart
So when is the NEMA table gonna wind up a poster on your store?
As a European, I love that a lot of US outlets look like they have goofy faces
Would love to see a video on the IEC 60309 Plugs in Europe coloquially know as CEE. They have cool Features like Water Resistance, Color Coding, Safty Disconnects >32A and are getting more common in the US too.
So glad I'm not the only one that geeks out over this stuff!!!
I guess a video about the UK standard plugs and sockets would be slightly shorter...
I look forward to seeing the "rest of the world" standards sometime. It's fascinating. I recall being surprised as a child when first seeing the various street furniture; pylons, lamppost styles in other countries. It hadn't occurred to me that there might be "other" designs. Similar with AC outlets of course.
It can't be any more complicated than the imperial system, can it?
Many of these sockets look rather shocked.
This is just making me want a "Yakko's Every US Electrical Outlet Explained" song.
my favorite electrical connector still has to be the 12v cigarette lighter for car accessories. Cars had cigarette lighters, accessories started coming with the special plugs that let them draw power from those cigarette lighters, and even as smoking in cars went away (for the most part) these 12v ports remained because... that was what all the accessories were using! it's being replaced by USB-C in newer vehicles but i still think its funny that for a while everyone was using this completely nonsensical giant barrel connector thing
That table is WAY easier to understand than the plain ol' boring monochromatic NEMA Configuration Chart.
In Europe, for industrial high-powered devices we use the CEE-form which, while much bulkier than the equivalent NEMA ones, provide 4 current ratings, 3 phase configurations, and many different voltages and frequencies. All neatly colour coded, keyed, weatherproof and with provisions for locking. The chart for those looks pretty dang neat too. It's a circle
My German toaster runs on 240V here in North America and uses a Schuko plug and receptacle. Very resistant to pulling out, nice system.
could you make a EU one? mabye with a collab if nessary
stock footage is wild. Why is the person at 6:57 running on a treadmill in dress shoes and pants???
Nothing beats the good old Schuko-Plug :)
