Thatβs a design flaw by the screen protectors. Samsung and other phones donβt have that issue, same tech just they didnβt design the screen protectors for this change.

They could just put a hole for the illuminator the same way they do it for the dynamic island
itβs because people are using matte screen protectors made for the iphone 17 instead of screen protectors made for the iphone 18 pro. like yeah if you use the wrong screen protector especially when the screen layout changes itβs gonna affect functionality

You Donβt need A privacy protector When you Can just use the custom To brightness and go to display &text Size and Scroll Down until you see Reduced white points And Turn On To 100% and also Turn Down the Brightness Level Down So That You Can See the Difference .

Even older model infrared camera gets worse if you put matt protection on screen not just on 18 models
Lazer cut a hole at the side of screen protector.... hence Problem solved π
