You've reached the end
Uhhhhh Dogs learn through repetition and association. If you consistently talk to your dog in a kind, upbeat voice, theyβll start associating that tone with something positive. If you yell at them when they do something wrong, they can associate that tone with something negative. The more you repeat something and reinforce it, the more they learn what it means. Thatβs basically why things like communication buttons can work, and why dogs learn tricks through consistent repetition and reinforcement.
Itβs the hand signals my dog does paw when I donβt ask but she knows to do it when I stick out my hand
And there are people who actually believe in those talking buttons lol Edit: I do know SOME of the buttons like food, outside, etc.. work. But the internet is fond of showing videos of dogs stringing entire sentences, even curse words. Ive seen a dog with a whole ass wall of buttons. That's the product of delusional people thinking their dogs think the same way they do.
Nah my dogs both know the actual words. I can give commands in a conversational tone and they listen
My dog knows wordsπ but he prefers singing and booty shakes cause he wants vibes
Who has read the captions word for word on their bingo card
Sometimes they even just listen to the hand motions you use doesnβt matter if you even say anything
Did yβall give the dog a treat after though?π₯ΉβοΈπ₯
It was the hand signals, I trained my dog on claps, whistles and snaps to get attention and hand signals for tricks and commands
Exactly, they understand tone and body language but not words Iβve met so many people who think dogs understand words π
My dog recognises βletβs go on a walkβ and treat no matter the tone. I could be whispering it to him and he would get it. Also, his toys have different names and if I tell him to bring me a certain toy, he knows which one I am referring to. Some dogs might work differently thoβ¦ you cannot come here and tell me that a shepherd dog knows all of those specific commands they are trained to do by tone.
is this transformative content
i saw another video on tiktok that dogs knows your tones π one guy tested it on his dog, calling him an annoying fuck in a high pitched baby voice, and then calling him an adorable little fuck in a more rough voice πππ the dog reacted the same
Domestic dogs are highly intelligent animals.. and while yea body language, scent, and tone are some of the ways they understand us, they can in fact understand language and words. When it comes to words, dogs learn via literal association. Things like outside, their names, your name or other peoples names, they observe us and how we communicate with each other and them and they do learn from that. On average a dog might know 50 to 150ish words, where more gifted dogs (usually your working or hearding breeds) can learn hundreds. Don't underestimate how intelligent dogs can be.
Nope! That is not what the dog was going of by. The dog was looking at hand movements!
He only know my hand signs for him, I snap and point when I tell him to lay down, I snap and fist my hand when he needs to sit, etc
Thats why you teach them hand signals, not words. My dog learned to spin when we spun our fingers in a circle
I learned this as a kid. It is all about tone and body language. Just straight up make random sound in your " baby voice" and an upbeat body language. This will get your dog excited and assume something good is happening Also, for commands, use hand jesters
They actually listen to words. I can say the word "outside" while on the phone and my dog will bring me the leash.
Hand signals are massive here. Notice how the dog didnβt get up until she gave the hand signal.
