You've reached the end
7900XTX owner here. The card is just too much power at stock settings. I’ve been having to tweak it DOWN to max clock speeds per its spec sheet and undervolt to keep it from driver crashes/timeouts. But even with all that, it still chews through 4K ray tracing like a champ
Every kind of Connector can melt if defective. The difference is that the 12v abominations fail at a way higher rate.
To be fair that was the adapters problem not the cable or the video card
Is PC building just doomed?
Disrespect to the guy who said first
probably because of that thermal grizzly thing
respect to the guy that said disrespect to the person who said first
The biggest plot twist of the year: Even the most trusted 8-pin connector is melting 😂🔥
Probably ran the DLSS 5 virus.
I... I need to check my GPU real quick.
The fire rises
I mean when you lose one match it feels horrible after such a winning streak. Than you realize your brother is on a massive losing streak.

As an owner of a 7900xtx the issue probably comes from using a pcie cable with 2 connectors on the end. You have to use 3 individual cables because of the power requirement of the beefy 7900xtx. Also will help stability and performance.
The 6+2 connector is like a Toyota Corolla it might brake down but it's alot more reliable than a BMW (12v connector)
as a bitcoin miner, 8 pins melts all the time.
I have been running a 7900XTX at stock settings for about 3 years now. I recently just took the computer apart and put it back together to clean everything out. Still no issues. However I have really good airflow in this case, I have each 8 pin on it's own line to the power supply. His little voltage monitoring thing...that's a great example why not to bother which such stupidity. It didn't save the connectors from melting.
Every connector you add puts more electrical resistance in the circuit. Just plug the cable right in, no need for any "in between" little adapters that don't change the form factor of the plug. Side note: The 12VHPWR connector is still ass, not saying that it's fine.
Moral of the story: Underclock extremely high-end GPUs Or don't buy them anymore, not worth the price.
The lonely keyboard 😭😭😭😭
