A transistor is a semiconductor used to switch and amplify electrical signals. Since Bell Laboratories invented it in 1947, it has replaced the vacuum tube in most applications and become the basic element of most modern electronics. Early transistors were individual parts used in telephone, radios and military equipment. Improvements in silicon processing and related manufacturing processes however, allowed large numbers of transistors to be created in combination as parts of a single integrated circuit. Core transistor types include field-effect transistors and junction transistors, especially MOSFETs. MOSFETs were especially suitable for use in miniaturisation, allowing processors, memory chips and specialised integrated circuits to be created containing billions of microscopic switching elements. Designing the layout of such devices depends heavily on electronic design circuit simulation, semiconductor foundries, automation software, ASIC workflows and intensive testing with instruments such as parameter analysers, oscilloscopes, as well as RF/network analysers. Transistors come in larger sizes for use in power and radio too. IGBTs, power MOSFETs, silicon-carbide and gallium-nitride devices are heavily used in electric vehicles, solar inverters, compact power supplies and industrial control systems. RF transistors feature in radar, wireless communications and satellite equipment. A wider engineering industry of PCB design, rapid prototyping, contract electronics assembly, semiconductor packaging and failure-analysis services has grown up based on transistor technology, making the transistor the foundation of the modern electronic industry. that was excellent! 😂😂 loved the led and laser disco 😂😂
I died at the LED
1:20 PARTY TIME! 🔊
the little LED dancing is my new favorite thing im obsessed with these little guys
1:20 So awesome! That is a sick beat.
Came for the nature documentary, stayed for the LED and laser rave! :)
Nowadays, transistors are grown exclusively in captivity. None are left in the wild.
1:23 absolute cinema ✋😐🤚
HE’S BACK
Here's a video for all the electronic DIY fans! Comment video ideas!!!!!👇👇👇
It's funny how the old thing actually looks like the most complicated thing there. Simplicity and efficiency really are the cores of modern engineering
0:41 aww look at ‘em 🥹
It's almost spooktober ... How does candy(ies) work
LED is the best part. Vacuum Tube looks big. Too big since these are insects. One thing i still don't get is why the eyes are in one area, yet the area that is the head doesn't have the eyes in it. It's weird. Also, showing the signal on and off, somehow, actually helped me understand how a transistor works. Like a real one. Very interesting
Best one yet!
1:35 I have gotten epilepsy and almost my eyes burned
1:46 kinda looks like a tripod and also what which one is the spider
1:18 how it laughs.
And yet we’re still in the middle of a RAM Crisis…
Transistor was a great game.
