Check out incredible cell data from About:Energy at https://voltt.aboutenergy.io/cell-library?t=BEI_MUL20A See more details from BEI here: https://beilab.ai/technology/ Hi! I'm Ryan, after finishing my PhD in engineering, I became a full time YouTuber to share technical details of whats happening in the world electric power and propulsion. Subscribe if you want to see more! This video looks at a new battery from BEI, it uses a relatively normal lithium-ion chemistry and a liquid electrolyte - but one thing is very different... it has no anode during manufacturing! This is the secret to getting the cells over 500 Wh/kg, and unlike some manufacturers, we have 3rd party tests to prove it. Constantly going between (super excited about new technology) and (super bummed it will take 5-10 years to experience it in my daily life) XD
Doesn't look like a donut.....should work 😅😂
Can't wait for these to get to market, I want a 500km scooter 😁
What a breath of fresh air to see content that's fully human
Good job getting rid of the "I respect your time" thing :)
For some drones all you need is one charge :O
The video described the other vertices on the battery tetrahedron, but then didn't describe this battery's performance relative to the other metrics. In particular, we need to see cycle life before we know if this is a product or a curiosity.
10:03 he drew a pentahedron not a tetrahedron

I didn't quite understand it in the video, so to clarify: The manufacturer of this new super battery is the South Korean battery technology company BEI (also known as Beyond Energy Innovation).
what I learned about batteries is that +500Wh/kg you can basically make a electric plane with multiple rows of passengers. This is hugeAF.
I wonder if it will ever translate into anything functional we'll be using in consumer electronics. As is having 80% capacity after 100 charges won't really cut it and so on...
I don't remember you being this giddy when you reviewed the Infamous DO-NOT battery
Erm actually, the shape he drew on the whiteboard is a pentahedron (five surfaces) not a tetrahedron...
Anode-free battery sounds almost like electroplating. Wondering if anyone already tried "reverse pulse", a a technique used in electroplating to counter dendrids and create smooth surfaces.
Quantumscape has a cell in pre-production stage with similar characteristics. Much more data is available from QS. So not sure why the hype.
Would love to see these pouches make their way inside some Milwaukee Tools batteries
10:38 I bonut believe 😅
yay a new Ziroth video
I can't wait to get one of these new cells in my phone
