Last year Logitech shut down the servers for the management software of some of the older remotes, completely disabling the software and making the remotes unprogrammable. They can still function in their last configuration, but can't be changed. I can't imagine that it cost more than a pittance to maintain that server software, the bandwidth was almost nothing, but it fucked over anyone who still had one of those remotes.

"I've still got my Wii U deployed" is such a strange way to put that, not hating, it's funny.

Having a Wii U still deployed is a power move. Still great for Wii games over HDMI.

The Harmony remote situation is frustrating: the hardware still works, while the software needed to manage it is the real failure.

My Wii U basically turned my tv into a smart tv back in 2014. I watched so many movies and Youtube on that thing lol.

I think the Wii U modding community needs to give it way more media center functions. I like the idea of lying in bed and control Netflix or jellyfin with it.

When he reached for the remote, I thought he was grabbing a cordless phone, I was like, I can't believe it... 😂

Still use harmony remotes, at least they seem to be keeping the code base updated.

Arguable but fair
