Targeting hospitals is truly evil.
Being a death note fan i wasn't expecting to hear ryuk
To name a malware that targets healthcare systems after a Shinigami is at least creative.
The first virus is just so sad, imagine losing your child to something horrible like this
Ryuk would be a funny name for a virus that only runs on Apple products
I actually tried to reverse engineer Ryuk a couple of months back, that thing was fucking insane to go through, I had to give up basically halfway through it.
The best part about EternalBlue was that the vulnerability was discovered by the NSA but they chose not to inform Microsoft so they could use it for themselves in the future. You don't hate the US government enough
A 22 yo researcher stopping a global malware within hours of it's creation is super impressive. Talk about a conversation starter for future interviews, damn
Life lesson: keep physical back ups, your all digital future is dystopia
And it’s lunch time, perfect time
omg 27:47 i love you too chilling scares!
The guy behind chilling scares is the future IT specialist
Most people don't realize their computers have a whole bunch of little computers inside them, all of which have vulnerabilities. This was decades ago, but when I worked at Packard Bell we got a batch of hard drives infected with a hard-coded virus. There was NO clean-up, we just had to shred 'em.

Shoutout to Marcus, 4 Billion in damages sounds like a bargain compared to what could have happened if the kill switch hadn’t been discovered
I’m afraid these might be just appetizers for the AI era
27:47 I love you too chilling scares♥️❤️🫰
Technology can be VERY scary and usually the older generation get targeted by these viruses. I work at a tech store and if I had a dollar for every time an older person comes because their phone/ laptop gets infected by a small virus or stupid pop up ads I would’ve been rich.
Marcus that discovered the virus should definitely get rewarded by stopping the exploit from spreading. God bless you.
malware viruses that fuck with hospitals are arguably pure depravity. I think they should punish much harder in court if the hacking virus attacks a hospital.
