Battery development feels a lot like early microprocessor development. The latest tech soon becomes obsolete. Meanwhile, the US president dreams of himself.
VW will say anything to convince its shareholders not to sell.
150$/kWh is still too expensive. it only makes sense in very premium cars. for a 100kWh solid state battery you then might have to add 10.000$ to get that longer range. i am not sure if someone wants to pay that. i might make sense for a super sporty EV version of the Audi R8.

It's getting closer...
In the end, this seems like yet another story about something which may be happening in 2030. That is still four years away which is hard to square with an announcement of an alleged, validated battery which is ready for production in cars starting in 2027.
I know it is a dumb worry but I am planning on buying an electric car this year, and it worries me the batteries are going to be so much better in 2030. I mean it is a good thing for humanity, but it almost makes me want to wait a few years.
Regardless of the technology or battery volume, normal electric car in EU is still 60k EUR+.
Might be seen in larger cars as well to boost range and reduce weights. Like a Transporter type car

Could the solid state batteries go in the International Scout? VW owns that venture.
The actual LFP I have is so good that a better and lighter one sounds outstanding. Funny Toyota promised the solid state battery several times more than 5 years ago.
