You have to enable Tap And Pay to use this. Should have explained this in the video. Contactless payments should be Turned on to use apple pay at POS terminals.
Region should not pose an issue. I am currently in the United States, with my region settings configured for the US. I was able to successfully add my AXIS Flipkart VISA credit card alongside my US Bank cards without encountering any problems. 🎉
