That momma had more control than I would have, if someone had cut my child's hair without my consent I would have been arrested.

She didn’t just cut that girl’s hair. She destroyed it and had her go out and play like that. Then have the nerve to try to justify it to her mom’s face. That woman was right to back away, and I haven’t seen this show or movie, but let me guess. She left out the part where she manipulated her while she was trying to call her mom.

"Mommy is so proud of you. Can you go wait in the hall?" is a crazy amount of control. Now her daughter will remember that her successes and supporting her is most important to her mom.

Not only did she cut it she cut it ugly. She essentially took scissors and just chopped away haphazardly when in all actuality she could’ve snip above the very last bead n slid the rest down and off. Mom handled that wonderfully cuz anyone else would’ve been throwing hands

The school cut the girl’s CROWN. That’s the hair she was born with. A lot of moms like to keep that so taking that away from the mother AND giving her daughter her first haircut is wild.

As a tennis player the beads in her hair wouldn't be distracting but inconvenient for the girl herself. Typically it is best to put your hair up or in ponytail so it stays out the way. But in no way should a school be allowed to force a kid to forfeit for some damn beads and they cut her hair.

Its technically assault to cut someones hair off without consent.

so this is based on an event with venus williams, in 1999 she faced a point penalty cause the beads fell out scattered all over the court and created an "unintentional hindrance." there's no official dress code regarding beads however that is a point to the matter if those beads came loose scattered on the court then it becomes a slip trip hazard and the Ref has final say overall he could have told the girl to suck it up and deal with the hair.

Microaggressions like calling a child ma’am are so damn frustrating bc we all know how it makes someone feel but they can shut it down with “oh it was polite”

I do love that the mom praised her daughter and calmly sent her out before beginning the fight. That's great.

At first I didnt understand why the mother was so mad that she wanted to sue because i thought the women had only remove the beads, but then I saw that she actually cut her hair and I had to applaud the mother’s control, my mom would have slap her in the face

I hate the adultifictaion of black children that happens in society. That is so very clearly a child, why did that white guy call her "ma'am"?? It's genuinely the little things that add up. Cutting her hair without consent and not giving her the choice. The little white girl bringing up her hair because she was losing as if having beads whack you in the face every time you move with force is anything but a minor hinderance. And I hate that this stuff still happens actively all the time.
