Join me as I take an early look at the new 4K 120Hz Ultra-Short-Throw, home cinema projector from XGIMI - the Aura 3 Max. *AFFILIATED PRODUCT LINK: https://tidd.ly/4ynk1V3 You can reserve one here with a deposit or click the LEARN MORE link (half way down that page) to read all about it. *AFFILIATED LINKS NOTICE When you click on Affiliated links and make a purchase, I earn a commission. This review sample has been provided free of charge by the manufacturer. No additional payment has been made, but I'm keeping the projector. *FIRMWARE UPDATE INFO* I have just installed the most recent firmware provided to me on 30 September 2026 and can confirm that it appears the 8 point Keystone correction, Auto Keystone Correction and Wall Flatness Adaption features are all now functioning as intended. In addition this firmware also improves the Dynamic Black Level Enhancement by reducing the response time. That is absolutely insane how close those ultra short throw projectors can get to a screen.

A Techmoan video on a Wednesday!?! Glad I work from home 😂
Wow! A Techmoan video for my 51st birthday!! 🎉 Thanks, Mat. ❤
Phwoar let's have a closer look at your Transformer media cabinet thingy!?
Amazing piece of kit. Definitely out of my current price range, but who knows in a few years this same machine will be more affordable or i pick one up secondhand.
just wanna say it's nice seeing you healthy (for the most part obv) and back to your regular self.

A Techmoan video released midweek has given me more jet lag than a transatlantic flight
Yay, a Techmoan video on Wednesday 😊👍 Thx Mat!
A very impressive piece of kit, as you say it’s lovely to see tech in this area getting better and better as the years pass. Top review!
just a small warning, xgimi doesn' have the best reputations regarding firmware upgrades , aka "DLP updates". For some they work perfectly fine and for others they brick the projector.
Yay, the full outtro is back - now it sounds correct again 😃
It's weekend !!! No wait...
Yay - the beeps are back at the end of the closing music! I missed them.
A few years back, I would not have expected Techmoan to become my "High-range 4K Home Projector" channel, but it is, and I'm all here for it. It's great to see you enthused about something new! The way you describe projector advancements, year to year, sort of reminds me of where we were with +40" televisions 5 to 10 years ago, with better picture quality (across multiple panel types), better bitrate support for HDMI, more inputs and yes, better software support (if you needed it); that was a very exciting time too, and just as importantly, prices were plummeting fast. My LG C1 is definitely not new anymore, but getting 65" panel, with that image quality, HDR and Dolby Vision support, and 4 HDMI 2.1 inputs, for barely more than $1000US, is shocking if you consider anything remotely equivalent just a few years earlier could've cost five times that or more. It sounds like that's where home projectors might be now! On the side note of the 120 hz support--that 100% sounded like a feature for the current generation of home consoles and to a lesser extent, gaming PCs (hard to picture what percentage of Windows 10/11 users have video cards capable of supporting 4K and 120hz or more, versus Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles), but I had never considered how that would be a boon to 24 hz video playback. Just based on my own experience, the Xbox Series X, specifically, has a many, many more 120 hz support in games because Xbox retroactively patched (some) games on Xbox One and Xbox 360, within the backwards compatibility program, to have 120 hz support on Series X hardware (I don't know if any are included in original Xbox titles), which I don't think is something Playstation has done with PS4 titles that didn't previously feature it (and PS3 games aren't supported on anything but that console, unless they are rereleased). That being said, I don't think it's a feature used by anything but a small percentage of the audience, and 120 hz support or more seems predominantly the area of multiplayer "pro-gamers", who naturally have other priorities (though I do enjoy using my RTX 4080 Super to play Flight Simulator 2024 at +90 FPS). Another great video, Mat!
Didn't know you were a fellow Atari fan! Glad to see you're still gaming 😁
I watched this in my semi-lit room on a standard white 2.4 m screen projected from my over 5 year old long throw 1080 projector on eco mode, and it looked astounding! 😁😇
