Oh Kelly, you were just a few miles from me. I live the Florida panhandle! My cousin lives on Rosemary its beautuful but I wish you could have seen the area back in the 60s before all the commercialism. It was such a quaint , quiet, beautiful beach with white cottages,screened porches and the gulf was the actual attraction. Camp Helen was a private camp for families of folks working for Alabama Mills. I experienced my first Florida trip there back in the late 50s early 60s with my church. It was an actual camp with a bunkhouses, a mess hall and bath houses. We would sail across lake Powell. It simply not the same. Then Mexico Beach! When I was young in was almost completely uninhabited and most visitors were airmen from Tyndall AFB. Thank you for the lovely tour and the memories! We love watching your weekly show and your cabin. We now live in Lillian ,Al. just 5 miles from Pensacola NAS and 11 miles from Perdido Beach. Would love to buy you lunch if you ever get this way. We are in our late 70s and have kids, grands, and great grands who visit all summer and every chance they get and we gave an open door policy. Anyway continue enjoying your life,you only get one.😅
