3 red rings can also mean that your power supply is plugged in too far or too flimsily. I remember crying when I had it and then I called my dad and he just told me to disconnect it and plug it back in again.

The towel trick worked for 3 segments. The towel method usually overheats the system which allows solder balls to melt correctly!

fun fact, xbox 360s bought within the first 2-3 years after it’s release had about a 25% chance of getting the red ring of death due to a hardware failure within 2 years. it’s pretty absurd how high of a failure rate this console had and how long it took them to fix the problems causing it.

4 rings also stopped showing up when fat revisions with HDMI plugs came out (zephyrs revisions onwards), when those got 4 rings on those, you knew your console was FUCKED
the slim rrod did have different meanings though it wasnt obvious because of the 1 error code. so to find the error code you have to hold down the controller sync button and press the eject button. this will display a 4 digit error code after 4 presses. 1 light meaning 1. 2 meaning 2. 3 meaning 3 and 4 meaning 0.
Never had a 360 die on me. Had the disc tray get stuck on one though 🤷♂️

Bro when i was little my parents bought one and it got the red ring of death so they threw it away because it didnt work then saved up for a new one and the same thing happened that really sucks
