You've reached the end
Abuse always escalates. My former stepfather started with words, then breaking stuff, then choking.
Punching walls is just step 1. Punching you WILL happen if you stay.
The whole story: The police officer is named Lucy. The girl is named Kira, as you know. Lucy was in charge of a class to teach citizens about police work. Kira came so she could learn how to stay safe in her relationship. After Lucy confronted her, she gave her her card. Which has her police badge and a number to call specifically her. Sometimes whenever an officer is dealing with a person by themselves without help, they give them their card. So they feel more comfortable calling. Kira does eventually call. She says that Oliver, her boyfriend, is really mad. She told Lucy to come quick, Lucy came alone. The call cut off when Oliver found Kira so Lucy had to be fast. When she got there Oliver was in the middle of choking Kira against the wall. Lucy and Oliver has a physical fight, Lucy wins with him pinned on the ground while he was handcuffed. Then she heard a gun trigger, she turned around and saw Kira pointed a gun at her. Kira said "It's not his fault, he just gets mad sometimes." Then Lucy told her what would happen if Kira shot a police officer. Then Kira backed out, she handcuffed her slowely. That's where the story ends. Not the show, just that part. The show is called The Rookie. The season is 5 and it's episode 11. Hope this helped <3 (Edit) How did I get this much likes over night✨?
Victims will go back time and time again. It takes time to finally convince them to leave. It can take 8-10 incidents before they finally make the move.
Abusers will usually break the minds and spirits of their victims before ever physically harming them.
Human nature thrives on pushing the envelope when it never needs to. Punching the wall, and verbal abuse are just gateways to worse if you continue to accept them as norms. Do NOT EVER let another human treat you like that. There is never an excuse to take hurt or anger out on possesions or other people.
There are not amazing shelters in any city. They're filthy, violent, and people get robbed in them...with a few exceptions. There should be amazing shelters, but those are the exceptions.
Starts off as walls, always becomes your face.
So what happened finally?
The people who are abused are always scared of the situation getting worse and refuse the help they need. It's so infuriating to see people who need help but refuse it everyway possible
If only the real world works this way. My community lacked any shelter space for me back when I was living in a DV situation, and the police called out to the scene by my neighbors who heard a fight (two male officers) were actually successfully convinced by my ex that there was no incident other than "my untreated mental problems." No one left in handcuffs. I moved back with family now but I don't want to think where I would be without them
yep. my stepmom started with yelling, then threats, then grabbing, then violence. luckily i got away from her ^^
The system still blames the victim. There are no resources to help victims truly escape and keep even a tiny bit of dignity and quality of life. Criminals can get more resources. There are no options. Just the courage to run and never look back and pray you find someone to help that isn't a serial killer
I rang the police, two came, spoke to me like I was an idiot. Said I need to calm down and left. One looked a tad upset with his partner cop. I rang a shelter, the woman said, "I don't know what to do with you " . My children and I slept in the car. Luckily I had a car.
This is season 8?
My waitress came in with a black eye. After spending the night at my place, i had her park in baçk of the restaurant where we were working. Her boyfriend showed up later. I confronted him. After facing his threats, i suggested he talk with the police, on the phone. He took off on the run. Back inside i found every cook, disheasher, busboy...armed with butcher knives! That guy never knew how close he came to being hamburger!
Maybe its annoying that the victim instead still going back to their abusers, but actually these abusers are smart. They manipulate through physical and emotional, make the victims only can just rely on abusers because they don't have any options and scared of what happened if they leave, plus they act loving and full affection so the victims will think the abusers one day will change. It took really long time convincing especially if the relationship happen for years.
When i dinally got the courage to leave my ex it felt amazing how much easier ot was than i thought. I called the police they took pictures of me, took him away, had me sign a paper gather my things and took me to an intake shelter for abused women, where i was asked a bunch of questions, and they put me in a hotel for 2 months and provided me with all sorts of resources to figure out what i needed to do. It sounds like a lot, but even as someone who felt completely alone i had so much support from total strangers. I just had to ask for it.
DV is something that can happen with no physical harm. People can be trapped, financially, emotionally, medically... I say medically because I've had experiences of a old roommate of mine hiding my prescriptions but also living it up by getting his dream vehicles, a f150 and a mustang. He had loans on both so a lot of the months he couldn't cover his half on bills and since I didn't have my meds, I just droned on with working. Don't be afraid of getting help. Start documenting early. And have a escape plan
Lolllll sure. My mom called the cops for domestic violence a dozen times. Nothing. Ever.
