Today we’re getting more trees in the ground at the farmhouse! We planted a Sequoia redwood and an Autumn Fantasy maple, figured out where a few of the other trees will eventually go, and finally started running irrigation across this side of the property. Having water out here is going to make planting this whole area so much easier, and it’s exciting to see things slowly starting to fill in! In our area new neighborhoods are putting berms where the highly traffic roads are. They are pretty tall and then plant them up. It’s absolutely gorgeous and helps with the traffic noise a lot
I'm in zone 6, the Autumn Blaze is a BEAUTY! Wait until it gets bigger.,,,You are going to regret not planning more of them! Line the fence or the driveway or make a grove of them. THOSE Trees are STUNNERS in the fall! You need MORE ROBBIE!

Getting all those new trees planted was already a huge job, but finally finding a way to keep them watered feels like an even bigger victory! 🌱💧🌳 After putting so much effort into planting, it must be such a relief to know the young trees can actually get the water they need. I’m really excited to see this landscape grow over time. ❤

The berm along the street side is an excellent idea. I saw a video possibly last summer on Linda Vaders YouTube channel She was traveling in the north east and stopped at a friend I believe in Connecticut. He actually did a very tall burm against the street and planted it with evergreens. The sound change was amazing not to mention the view was striking

Have you considered creating a hedge of Oleander along the edge of the property to mask the traffic?
