The reason because it was very loud was not only dust and grime, that was a pretty small problem. The problem was that Sony wanted to save money so they used cheap thermal paste that dried up fast and did not work that well, if you want to make your ps4 much faster you can buy some midrange or highrange thermal paste.

Most of the time it happens long after the warranty is gone. It's not something everyone is confident to do. I cracked open my cousin's PS4 pro, and it was full of roaches, and Larva. 2 hours of cleaning later I applied some thermal grizzly, and it hasn't been an issue since. It's been years.
