This trick only works because it is used so rarely. If it would be used more often, everyone and its mother would think of it the moment you have not seen the signal. The more likely a scenario is, the more likely is it for us to think of it in an instance.

he goes up to the receiver like the zombies in TWD when they are trying to mask their scent with zombie guts

I was in the front row near that yardline for this game. My buddy next to me was losing his mind. Genuinely smiled at him and said, "Man...you can't even be mad at that." The next play, the receiver signaled a fair catch. Three players ran fully sprint and stopped right at his face.

Mate i would *LOVE* to see you cover some NRL moments, like the 2015 grand final Cowboys vs Broncos - the first AND only golden point grand final. One of the greatest grand finals of all NRL.

This is called being a dick while playing the sport. Sure you can use trick plays to deceive your opponent but here it’s just someone taking advantage of the other players not wanting to hurt you for no reason to trick them. Next time if the defending player isn’t 1000% certain he saw the sign he is flooring him regardless.

That’s how you get utterly laid out on a fair catch. Don’t do that.
