Magnetic charging connectors have to be “shallow” so that it can be detached easily if yanked unintentionally. With this magnetic USB-C connector, how well does it detach? From the depth of the connector, it seems to drag the device down with it.

I want to know how the pins work along with avoiding the normal friction latch function of USB-C, without reducing the reliability of the port for normal USB-C.

Honestly dope, but after 24 years of windows I had finally had enough and apple silicon macbooks are still gonna be my daily until windows OS stops all it’s BS, which is probably just never gonna happen.

They should have made this 30 years ago! We had magnet technology back then. Except every time you would have went to charge your laptop you would have erased your HDD.

Imo, it doesn’t have the perks of having a magsafe magnetic charging port. If we accidentally trip, wouldn’t it damage the type c port?

Honestly this is genius. Amazing design. Hopefully the rest of the laptop is as nice, Surface Laptops have always felt uncompetitive to me.

Looks like a Volta Charger tip built into the laptop. Their new tips let you use the magnetic cable or plugin a USB-c cable into it.

Low-key the amount of space the magnets take up on each side cancels out the fact that you can just put a USB-C port next to an MagSafe port using the same amount of space, they just make the magnetic charger smaller and put USB-C next to it. This is over engineered for no reason.
