My problem with the Male vs Female armor thing (from a design standpoint) is that it's meant to be THE SAME armor, but it changes so drastically based on the gender/sex of the character for no reason, and both version are meant to appeal to the male gaze. If the designs are consistent aka the same armor is "sexy" or a complete set on every character, like the sets do in Bg3, then it's less controversial.
