You've reached the end
7 year old me would be absolutely stunned if you told me that snails were more dangerous to me than a piranha
This must be the immortal snail that’s following me around
Growing up in Hawaii, we are significantly more terrified about cone snails than sharks.
Thank you Octonauts for warning me about these living dart guns
THE GASP I GASPED WHEN I SAW THAT DAMN CONE SNAIL
Nature really put a lethal sniper weapon inside the most innocent-looking ocean shell
The Internet made me scared of the beach
Octonauts scared the SHIT out of me with the cone snail episode when I was a kid😭
Thank you for being part of the beginning! 🤐😙
“don’t pick it up” *immediately picks it up*
The craziest part is that it’s venom is like super insulin, it drops the blood sugar of its prey to hypoglycemic levels
I lived in Okinawa for three years, never ran into them, but when I went to the aquarium in Okinawa, I definitely saw that exhibit about cone snails many times. Not to mention these fish that disguise themselves as rocks in the water that when you step on them, also inject venom into you, that’s why you always wanna wear 2 to 3 inch thick sea shoes when visiting The ocean there.
New fear unlocked, thankyou Mr. Mulligan 😭
Imagine you are walking and you see that shell and you pick it up and you die
This is why I thank the Octonauts for blessing me with the knowledge of marine animals. I knew damn well from the shell on it's own that it was a cone snail.
I knew instantly what it was
"It is very important you don't pick it up" _overlayed on top of a video of someone picking it up_
thanks to a certain australian youtuber I instantly knew what that animal was, what it can do to you in a span of seconds, and how many it can affect people with just a small dosage
This is why i just don't go outside.... how humanity made it this far is beyond me.
And the problem is that each cone snail makes its own unique cocktail of poison compounds. So there will probably never be any kind of universal cone-snail anti-venom.
