Move over, America! You’re not the truck capital of the world. Bangkok, Thailand, has one of the most interesting truck cultures anywhere, and when I say they live this culture, I mean it. In this episode of Capturing Car Culture, we meet Dodo, a man who eats, sleeps, works, and plays in his truck 24/7. Step into the wild world of Thailand’s Isuzu D Max delivery trucks, built to work, built to race, and so freakishly fast even Jimmy John’s would be jealous. your guide's english is so good. To be able to translate in real-time and pick up on the english nuances and mannerisms is elite translation skill
We need Forza make a DLC about Thai car culture, it's actually wild
Translator deserves his own video!
Proper car guys, actually not only cars, but anything that can be motorised they will do it :))
15:00 For foreigners that are confuse about why no big trucks for this kind of job, it's because Bangkok and many major cities enforce no-truck zone that pretty much banned all big trucks from entering the city between 6 to 9 AM and 4 to 8 PM to make room for commuters. So city delivery all rely on small pickup like this. Between those times, big trucks can only use main highway.
As a Thai, I wan to say good job to the interpreter! He did a great job translating and brought out the excitement of that truck culture. Cheers
For me, living here, I never thought about them as exotic, it's everywhere, it's passing by my house every so often, when I ordered something online, it sometime shown up in these truck with super loud turbo. When I hear turbo, I knew the delivery guy is coming. lol
I hope you folks enjoyed this one, it's a little different, as it's more of a human story and it shows what sacrifices someone will make just to drive a modified vehicle. Where should we explore next? I actually would love your suggestions.
Once their has a joke about modified Isuzu pick up in thailand. "Tractor Suspension with Ferrari Spirit."
It's kinda weird that i am baffled by the simple but genius Isuzu strategy to build exactly what their customers want to buy from them. Over here in Germany our car manufacturers stopped with developing and building cars that people really want to buy nearly two decades ago, VW Audi BMW and Mercedes only offer overengineered complicated and way to expensive crap cars nowadays which are designed around pretty stupid rules and regulations. What a crazy idea from Isuzu to produce and sell what people actually want them to. Love it ! 🖤
350HP with no camper and empty would be a lot of fun. 350 is serious power for something so light.
Thai build are insane.Respect and Revs from the Philippines 🙏🙏🙏🇵🇭
The translator does a great job and seems like a good bloke.
Being an expat in Thailand its great to see the Thai car scene promoted.
These guys are the most hardworking guys in Thailand they don’t stop also these guys are super friendly they don’t speak English a lot but you have to respect what these guys do so much
There are laws for 6 wheeler truck that they can’t be running in the city in certain times and area. 6 wheeler truck also aren’t allowed to do a u-turn in some places. And 6 wheeler truck are time base, you are allowed to drive for 4 hours and have to take a 30mins brake. So, the pickup truck are more suitable, plus these trucks when modified can carry up to 4 tons of cargo some around 5 tons
I've been extremely depressed lately but I found myself smiling at this video.
I met a guy here in the uk with a 1jz swapped mid 2000s mitsubishi l200, had a chat with him and found that had come from Thailand, it was a super clean well done build. Then i found an early 80s rwd corolla with a tidy 4age swapped into it at the same meet and found that was also from Thailand, really woke me up to all the crazy builds theyve got going on out that way, v cool.
This channel wouldve been golden in tv back in the day
Whoa, the connection back to Initial D was crazy
