These 'bikes' are a loophole

Less traffic, fewer emissions, no noise, more room for parking other vehicles... sounds like the "loophole" is a win for the city and the citizens.

There is no chance in hell that ONLY TWO of the bikes can carry a vanload.

These delivery "bikes" existed in NYC before congestion charge began.

I'm okay with this in principle. It looks small enough to fit in the buffers that often exists between bike lanes and general purpose lanes, meaning they are not illegally blocking any lane. And electric vehicles can help keep pollution lower at street level, especially important in a dense area like Manhattan.

Thats not a loophole, thats city policy working as intended.

Now imagine more walking and biking paths

also less heavy trucks on the road means less damage to them too cuz alot of streets and roads were designed for cars and very little on heavy trucks so the wear and tear is more than what was anticipated so they get potholes alot more often between when they are scheduled to be repaved and those get delayed as well. so while amazon is doing a loop hole here it is better for everyone right now

And for something heavy they can use panel vans, as in Europe!! Really, these trucks only work for construction/furniture materials. Barely something of the things we ship
