Tara, an old beautician here. First of all setting dry hair is not the way with curlers. Second, 20 minutes is not enough time to get the curl. The correct way to do this, 1. wash your hair and let it air dry for a while but not completely dry. 2. No need to section hair. Start at the top and work your way down. 3. Make sure you layer the curlers in a brick pattern. 4. Let hair get completely dry, you might have to sleep in the curlers, unless you start early in the morning or have a bonnet hair drier. 5. Take out the curlers once dry and style. I hope this helps. I love your content and found you when you had the crazy neighbor in California.

As someone that has done Velcro rollers quite a bit. You need to leave them in farrrrr longer than 20+ minutes. I'm talking like...6 hours. Otherwise you won't get those curls and the hair will fall quick. But your hair still turned out fabulous!!! If you ever have a rot day at home give it a try! 🧡🧡

Velcro rollers are more for adding body to the root. If you want that free falling wavy curled hair you should give hot rollers a try! And leave them in longer! Until they’re cool for a while.

Go to as many events as you see fit Tara. You always film a bit for us to see, which is fun. I hope you keep a few in here and there for us to see, but for heaven's sake, don't go to more events than you want to for our sake. You do you girl, we're just here for the ride!

As a fine hair girly, I usually add Velcro rollers to the top layer to get more volume and I keep them on while I do my makeup. More volume not so much curls unless you curl it before and use a smaller roller.
I have this silly drying cap that attaches to my blow dryer. Rolling is what takes practice. I roll then heat it all up with that silly cap. Works like hot rollers.
I’ve seen a lot of comments about the rollers. Ditto to what most people said, but if you need faster glam waves, then hot large round brush (I have the Shark flex fusion which was replaced by the Shark glam) is the way and using the twirl method. If you are determined to use rollers then hot rollers are the way to go. I’ve looked into Korean S wave perms as well, but I’m too scared to chemically change my natural texture for that, so Shark brush it is.
