$2500, one blown engine and a ticket to Tassie. Jock McDonald and Zach "Brocko" Burrows give Jesse Gleeson's old Cape York 60 Series the mods it needs for Tasmania's toughest 4WD tracks. This 60 Series let go its engine at the Cape, got a swap and still dragged Jesse to the tip. Now Jesse's back in Nissans, so the keys go to the new owner, Brocko. Jesse calls in from his shed to hand it over, and the boys get stuck in. Jock makes the sensible calls, Brocko chases the fun extras. A bar up front, a diff swap, a custom radiator hose, diff breathers, Outback Armour shocks and a bilge pump, plus one secret mod Brocko slipped in. It runs late into the night in the shed, and there's only one question left at the end: will the old Toyota even start? Next up, Brocko takes the 60 to Tasmania with Jock in the HiLux. We won't spoil how the old girl handles it. 🔧 The first mod I'd do on a cheap 4WD: ____ CHAPTERS 0:00 Intro 1:14 The fix list: getting a 60 Series Tassie ready 2:34 First mod: the bar 4:47 Diff swap 5:38 Custom radiator hose 6:53 Diff breathers for water crossings 7:51 Outback Armour shocks fitted 8:06 Working into the night 9:36 XXXX bar reveal 10:18 Bilge pump install 12:10 Final mods 13:19 Will it start? 14:07 Brocko's secret mod 15:31 Tassie teaser: next stop Tasmania Sponsors: Repco: https://www.repco.com.au Kincrome: https://www.kincrome.com.au XXXX: https://www.xxxx.com.au Outback Armour: https://www.outbackarmour.com.au/ 📸 Instagram: @4wd247 📘 Facebook: @4wd247 🎵 TikTok: @4wd247 Shaun, Graham, Jock & Jesse — formerly with 4WD Action — have been delivering Australia's best off-road content for 20+ years. Brock looks like Shaun and Jocko’s love child , it’s uncanny 😂
Brocko is a fantastic addition! Let's go!!!!
Been following zac on insta with his 80 series for some time now and always thought that he would be great in long form video. proud to see him on 4wd 24-7
What's the first mod you'd do on a cheap 4WD?
Still cracks me up how Brock got his nickname
pumped for this Tassie trip
I got excited at the intro thinking the 60 Series was finally getting some love… then I saw the type of repairs and mods Brocko was doing and just shook my head.
Handy tip when running throw mud, zip tie fly screen in front of your radiator, once full of mud cut off the fly screen and either wash it out or apply new one, catches the mud instead of your radiator
Most Bush mod? Touring Namibia many years ago in a turbo'd 60, it started running a bit warm even though it had an oil cooler fitted just before the trip. At camp that evening I noticed that if I took cardboard and duct tape I could make a scoop in the lower bull bar to increase airflow through the oil cooler. It was so effective that the owner had the cardboard sections made out of steel on our return. 30plus years later I think the rig still has the mod...
So great to be a night worker in the US and get surprise video drops from Australia.
As a hj61 owner, I'm loving the 60's on the channel lately. Would be good to see an all leaf sprung vehicle episode. Good to see Brocko's sticking around too
1:31 you could find a second windscreen washer tank and mount a few sprayers in front of the radiator to spray the mud off after each mud hole.
Fng going to get all the test work lol did a great job on the cape vids glad to see 4wd 24/7 getting some more young blokes involved 👏
there is something about landcruisers that you wanna drive it hard....... cool build man
Nice change of pace
60 Series will never let you down they may be old but they’re old and tough when I save up enough I’m gonna buy one for myself
I appreciate the little teaser for Thursday 🤙
Bull bar and Winch
Your next trip should be a rescue mission of the Pajero at Birdsville, with Jessie, and then cross the Simpson on all three bush mechanic vehicle (Prado, 60, and Pajero).
Love your stuff guys, dreamed of doing this myself with a pajero I bought that I'm 95% sure you guys built yourself, but I know soon have to sell my baby as I don't have the ability to fix the problems it's having now, no space :(. Doesn't work for everyone I guess. Keep up the good work boys
