Somehow because of marketing or social media, many people are misled to believe that turbo petrol means sporty & Naturally aspirated engine means boring; which is totally false in reality. As far as driving a manual is concerned, Naturally aspirated engines are the best. There is no turbo lag, there is no sudden uneven burst of power, you don't have to change the gear a lot just to be in the turbo range (which is mid range). NA engines are very smooth, it can be revved till the redline like a proper petrol engine (which is not the case in turbo petrols), has very low maintenance, and fuel efficiency is very stable. Idk why there is so much hype around turbo petrols. I would take this 1.5 NA engine anytime over turbo petrols of similar or smaller capacity. The recently launched Renault duster has become famous for turbo lag, even in its bigger 1.3 engine, making drivablity very unpleasant.
Rear ventilated seats..great addition !
It's alright. I'd buy it when it gets the mandatory ₹2lac showroom discount at the end of the year /financial year when they want to clear dead stock
The color looks great. Goes very well with dimensions of the car.
Gavin - As a fan and designer, I wanted to explain why Honda’s LaneWatch camera setup makes design sense despite criticism. Showing only the left-side feed on the center screen is intentional. Looking at the center screen during a left turn aligns with moving your gaze toward the left ORVM, allowing a quick mirror re-check in under half a second if needed. A center-screen feed for right turns, however, forces head movement back and forth between the screen and the right ORVM, taking over a second and creating a hazard. Hyundai and Kia enable safe dual-side checks via digital instrument clusters below the driver’s line of sight, but Honda’s City and Elevate in India lack full digital displays for this. The real LaneWatch issue is that activating the left signal overrides CarPlay or Android Auto maps, forcing drivers to delay turning indicators at complex junctions.
Wish a hybrid could have been there. The front looks like what Maruti Suzuki has done to the Baleno.
They just say online they want hybrid but like so few will buy Mostly buyer are from 11 to 16 lavk budget so they aim for that . Honda hybrid is like Maruti Suzuki jimny everyone want online but in real life no one buy
If only this was cheaper by 1 to 2 lakh across models
Looks beautiful though 😍
Everything is temporary but watching renault duster ad is permanent 😂
I think Honda should definitely bring in the Elevate Hybrid. It would be a no-brainer purchase. Even if it means them losing money initially, it will help them show stronger sales figures and more Honda cars on road, which will help them bring in more money in their other offerings. The classic "Lose money on one model to generate more overall sales and in turn increase their overall profitability"
Personally, I am waiting for a robust and reasonably affordable Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle to launch in India. This provides the best of both worlds - EV savings within the city, and no range anxiety when travelling long distance. I mostly drive within the city for work but happen to drive through rugged hilly/forest terrain when visiting my native place. India's EV charging station story might take a long time to really mature and become reliable. So PHEVs are a good compromise especially for my travel profile. While MG has launched a PHEV, I still can't bring myself to trust Chinese-owned brands to deliver on safety; real-world safety involves honest engineering efforts that go well beyond merely satisfying safety certification tests. Hence I am hoping that Honda will someday introduce a good, sensible PHEV.
Honda should've / could've given a "Hybrid" on Elevate, & added a "Turbo on the City" version. I'm positive this move would've got them "Good" numbers rolling especially during this "Festive Season" & adding their New EV to the list during 2027 or later done some magic to their - "Man Max - Machine Minimum" idealogy In addition, with an upgrade - remove sun roof n give better "cam n infotainment" system.
I am an owner of an elevate. Have the CVT version. I have clocked in about 13k kms and can say that I am overall happy with the car. I like the ride quality, the engine despite it not boasting a big figure (is sporty in its own right when you drive the right way). The only thing that has kept me bothering since the first day is the maruti like feel when you close the doors or operate your windows. Of course they might not be an issue for people coming from a Maruti but I had a Ford ecosport before this and the difference is massive. The NVH level although there, isn't bad. I personally don't think it's as bad as they portray it to be. But perspectives always differ. I have heard that changing the tyres coming in from the OEM to a different brand make a lot of difference to the NVH levels. So something for you to consider. Overall, I would definitely consider shortlisting the car for its reliability (it's a honda after all), ride comfort, and it's sensible nature. It might not woo you with a feature list compared to the competition, but don't let gimmicks fool you into buying a solid vehicle that would last long.
previous brown seats were asthetic
I think Honda should also not insist on that 6 monthly service calls to maintain warranty, in this day and age, an annual service call would suffice for those without much running. The NVH in the first gen Elevate was worse than my almost 7 year old Honda City when I test drove it. Another problem with Honda Car India is the body rust problem that is common... which I experienced in my Honda City and was one of the problems because of which I sold it
🤗Some one had told me incidents of major accidents or fire hazards are very low with honda cars. I didnt agree to him. He asked me to check number of such incidents on roads for Honda cars,. I realized fatalities are very low with hondas. Then I started believing his words. I had used gen 2 city and now driving CIVIC 10th gen . I trust honda ❤❤❤
Safest car to buy. No bullshit car. My new seltos has many electrical failure every now and then..too many features....too may beep beep notices!! I believe it's the iPhone of cars. Safe option
Lack of diesel and EV will take honda down day by day..😭
They have nothing to lose at this point. They should have taken a bigger bet.
