Companies are gonna have to get comfortable with not owning their products
Seeing Adobe getting shafted is such a warm and fuzzy feeling.
i dont care much for the game mashups, but adobe getting screwed I DO NOT MIND.
big companies wanted people to use AI. and so people did. to take down the same companies
Re-creating Adobe Premiere, bug for bug and glitch for glitch.
While I don't like the premise necessarily, if anyone deserved it - it was Adobe.
There's always been tons of Adobe Photoshop opensource alternatives, but what makes this somewhat different is that there is almost no learning curve if you're an existing Photoshop user. I downloaded it and it's almost a 1:1 clone of the basic toolset. Hotkeys and layout are the same.
We just got rid of Adobe CC. Costing us $1200AUD per year and we use it very minimally. The most we use is illustrator and that's purely for our vinyl printer to add cutlines and maybe make a general word/numbered printed vinyl sticker to go onto a container. VectorCraft did exactly the same thing, still exports as a .EPS file and the printer recognised the cutlines. Cya Adobe, don't let the door hit ya. This is what you get for constantly making me change the password because you thought my work PC and my work Laptop were 2 different people.
Claude Code + Ghidra MCP = "Real disassembly"
So glad Adobe is the first one to go. F Adobe with a passion
People playing Nintento Switch and Gamecube games on their PS5 wasn't on my 2026 bingo card, but here we are.
We went from "AI is gonna ruin open source" to "AI is gonna end proprietary code" pretty quick lol
Maybe has a lot to do with devs getting laid-off and having nothing to do.
this whole thing such a pandora's box... the ouroborus has begun eating its own tail
ArtCraft is also creating clones for MS Office and AutoCAD. Edit: I just looked, and they've added a Figma clone too.
Prices for tokens to "vibe code" will not go down, they will go up. They are heavily subsidized right now.
In a way, these mega corporations deserve everything that's coming their way. They forced us into not owning our own software and into forever monthly payments that forever go up. They have basically engineered the need for their replacement. Now, people with AI, they are just fulfilling that empty space.
I like this AI development. These companies were perfectly fine laying off people to replace them with AI, now the companies are going to be replaced with AI. This is beautiful
I’ve been using Adobe products for over 15 years it’s literally my bread and butter. Before creative cloud there was this unspoken agreement between Adobe and its users where they basically allowed you to steal it until you could afford to pay for it They would even you uninstalling the trial and then reinstalling it every time it expired, but ever since they introduced the creative cloud system they have turned from pretty chill industry leader to actual tyrants.
think its the other way around, if they continue to develop it and it gets 90% of the way there, i think it will end up being far more normies using it in the medium term. Free, multiplatform, gets the job down, it'll be professionals who will stay on adobe until its basically there and any and all court cases are resolved.
