The guy is an ex MACV-SOG operative that worked in the CIA that was probably a green beret as well in vietnam, 7 and 2 are one of the worst hands you could get in poker so that means he was in a situation where shi went bad, also 7 in the alphabet stands for G and 2 is for B (Green Beret). The vietnam vet definitely understood who that guy was and that he should not mess with him for whatever reason.

7/2 is not only the worse hand in poker, but in this situation it refers to the 7th letter in the alphabet, G and 2 being B, as in Green Beret, this tattoo was kind of common at one point in the GB's amongst some elite group of them or what not, have a family member that has the same tat on his shoulder, the spade in the 7 is surrounding a bullet wound scar in his case.

For those of you that donβt know seven duece is the worst possible hand in Poker referred to as βhell playing this hand 7 2 tattoo on his arm is referring to the green berets the armyβs version of βspecial forces β and all he endured when he was serving and he made it back to the tell the tale . Thatβs why the guy took off when he saw the tattoo.
