What was supposed to be the next cosy chapter of my little room makeover didn’t quite go according to plan… After laying the new flooring and slowly bringing this room back to life, I was ready for the fun part: adding furniture, cosy cottage details and finally starting to style the space. I’d found what I thought was the perfect day bed for this small room, with plenty of storage and lots of potential for a cosy, collected look. Turns out, getting there was going to be a little more complicated than I expected! Come along for another realistic DIY home makeover as I tackle flat-pack furniture, small-space decorating and all the unexpected problems that come with renovating and decorating a home yourself. There’s also a little dive into the history of flat-pack furniture, because after this experience I had questions 😂 If you enjoy cosy cottage interiors, budget-friendly home makeovers, DIY projects, vintage Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcx0GWauE1_cQYSkk70y0YA/join 📚📚📚📚📚 Books 📚📚📚📚📚 I am delighted to announce that my second book, "Heart & Home" by Catherine Carton, is now available. You should return this back to the store. This is shocking quality or lack of it.
oh my god I got the rage just watching you trying to build that thing
send it back and get a cute little day bed
Not gonna lie the bed would make a lovely fire, bless your patience ❤
Please send the bed back. No one needs that headache. Sending you deep breath’s and a pint🍺🍻
If you plan to keep it go purchase L brackets and two flat brackets for the back. This would hold the frame together much better. Also you will be able to slide it.
Bless your heart Catherine🌹...i would've had a good cry & used it for fire wood, to keep warm in winter!😔🔥
Just return the THING!! You deserve better❤
😱. Feeling the rage myself. Stay well.
It looked like shite in the box. I feel for you but you gave it good crack I would be in tears and enough money in the swear jar for a day out to Llandudno. x Glad you are going out for a break!
I laughed so hard but I feel your pain. i can't believe you kept going.
I came here to say this!! I’d add that a lovely antique French daybed would look fantastic in that room…
Man, oh man, do I love this community! The comments are a scream. Everyone loves you, can empathize with you, and has a funny …OK so not funny, but seriously hilarious story to tell. We’re with you, Catherine!! and yes, this was very entertaining. 🤗❤❤❤❤
As my dad used to say - “cheer up, things could get worse. So I cheered up and sure enough, things got worse”. I do hope things get better for you. Can’t wait for the next page of this chapter. 🤗 s
I'm twice your age and in my time I've put together so much flat pack furniture but I've never ever seen anything as bad as this. I'd pack it up and return it as even if you manage to get it put together I don't think it will take any weight. You'd be better off building it out of Lego.
Send it back! There’s nothing to think about. 😮
Poor thing…… you are so patient. It will work out. ❤
I once made a chest of drawers for my mam and it was horrendous. All the drill holes, etc were miles out, everything was just so difficult! And I usually love flatpack. I said if she ever got rid of it, to tell me so I could rage destroy it. It's still going strong years later, but at some point I'll have my day with that bloody thing!
You have the skills to design and build one yourself and it would be sturdy and pretty.
I can feel your frustration coming across the screen!! You have the patience of a saint and if it's the best option for your room then I know you will make it work, somehow. Once you finish the room it will be beautiful for sure!
