Tesla has brought flying-car concepts a step closer to reality, though everyday use remains a distant prospect. The company demonstrated a redesigned Roadster that drove upside down on a specially designed ramp, performed brief airborne manoeuvres and landed safely during an event at a SpaceX facility in McGregor, Texas, on October 15, nearly nine years after the next-generation electric sports car was first unveiled. The demonstration marked a major moment for the long-awaited electric supercar. The vehicle drove up a huge curved ramp, continued along it upside down, then flew through the air before landing safely. Imagine the FOD damage to cars around it. Notice he didn't open the door, just showed artist concepts of the interior. I was at the Dubai car show many years ago and they had a flying car there, it looked so real with wheels that turned etc, but the body was filled with helium and had reversible fans underneath that could pin the car to the ground, or when reversed, make it float above the ground. I wouldn't be surprised if this is similar. How did it climb that loop without falling off? Magnets or air pressure. I'll believe it when I see one come off the production line.
